What iOS devices are compatible with my Echo Meter Touch module?

The plug built into your Echo Meter Touch determines what types of iOS devices it can be used with. The three types of plugs found on Echo Meter Touch modules are:

  • USB-C

  • Lightning (discontinued)

  • Micro-USB (discontinued)

USB-C Modules

Echo Meter Touch modules that were built with USB-C plugs are compatible with iOS devices only if the iOS device has a USB-C port. Apple's polices prevent it from working with Lightning-equipped iOS devices.

If you purchased the module prior to April 2024, you must update the module's firmware to version 2.0 or later using an Android device. For firmware update instructions, see How do I update the firmware on my Echo Meter Touch module with USB to add iOS compatibility?.

Lightning Modules (Discontinued)

Echo Meter Touch modules that were built with Lightning plugs are compatible with any of the devices listed on our iOS device compatibility page.

For iOS devices with a Lightning port, the Echo Meter Touch module can connect directly to the iOS device.

For iOS devices with a USB-C port, you must use Apple's official USB-C to Lightning Adapter. We have tested third-party adapters but have not found any that work.

Micro-USB Modules (Discontinued)

Echo Meter Touch modules that were built with Micro-USB plugs are compatible with iOS devices only if the iOS device has a USB-C port. The device must also be listed on our iOS device compatibility page.

You must update the module's firmware to version 2.0 or later using an Android device. For firmware update instructions, see How do I update the firmware on my Echo Meter Touch module with USB to add iOS compatibility?.

You must use a USB On-the-Go (OTG) Micro-USB to USB-C adapter in order to connect the Micro-USB plug to a USB-C port. For more information, see What adapter do I need for my Echo Meter Touch module and Android or iOS device?.
